Givenchy 2014 Spring/Summer Footwear Collection

After unveiling the forthcoming Spring/Summer 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week back in June, designer Riccardo Tisci and Givenchy have brought forth an all-encompassing look at the Parisian luxury label’s corresponding collection of seasonal footwear. Mimicking the so-called “techno-tribalism” and motifs of the Spring/Summer 2014 apparel, the range is dominated by pattern-emblazoned sandals of luxurious snakeskin and pebbled leather – each built atop a technical air-cushioned, sneaker-inspired sole clearly reminiscent of Nike‘s Air Max 90. Like the bold apparel, the sandals are set for a release early next year.

John Varvatos 315 Mac Double Zip Sneaker

Formerly known as the location for the late, legendary music club CBGB, fashion label John Varvatos took over the space in 2006, already drawing inspiration from the slew of rock bands that once played in that very location. These roots come full circle in 315, a new imprint under John Varvatos – a conflation of streetwear influences with rock-inspired sensibilities. Here, 315 presents its inaugural footwear silhouette: the Mac Double Zip sneaker. Ostensibly a good match for, say, biker jackets and band tees, the Mac Double Zip sneaker comes outfitted with a one-piece half-treated calfskin upper. This part is garnished with a full chrome zipper at the side.

Perfectly rugged, the boots sport an upper that sees ballistic nylon juxtaposed with premium suede, metal eyelets and moc toe construction. Beige/green, brown/red and black colorways are now available at White Mountaineering stockists across the globe as a part of the label’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection.
